About Me
I really appreciate you taking the time to peruse through what I do and what I’m about. My name is Chloe Donohoe, and I’m a designer who is passionate about creative mediums and looking to expand my design knowledge. The versatility of design inspires me, and the skills I’ve learned throughout the years facilitates all of my design outcomes. If you’ve found your way to my ‘about’ page, you’re likely looking to understand more about me as an individual, and here you can find just that.
Education And Early Experience
I’m a Billy Blue graduate with a Bachelor of 3D Design and Animation. My specialisation in the degree was texturing, lighting design, and scene composition. This means I primarily gravitated to things that fell under the category of 3D look development. Story telling is also a large part of what I enjoy doing in this medium, which can be seen in my bodies of work that primarily focus on still life creative pieces where I utilise objects and scenes to communicate a mood and story.
Before the Bachelor of 3D Design and Animation, I had completed a year of the Bachelor of Communication Design at Billy Blue. During university I engaged with a myriad of freelance work that required skills from multiple disciplines, but of which centred primarily around graphic design, illustration, and motion design/video editing.
An Unconventional Journey
After completing my qualification in design, I began working for a pet treat company called Pawtion. Being an in-house designer for a small business meant that I had to be adaptable and utilise a versatile skill set. This encompassed brand continuity, packaging design, print design, digital design, website asset design, and social media management. Many of the deliverables completed in my role can be found here.
Alongside the graphic design work completed at Pawtion during 2024 to the current date, I also found interest in the tattooing industry and secured an apprenticeship. While I was there, I cultivated digital illustration experience in software like procreate and elevated my traditional illustration skills through numerous hours of practice. During that apprenticeship, I discovered that my heart was with design and since then have been furthering cultivating my graphic design skills.
I have not only continued my role at Pawtion, but have also taken on other freelance work. At the beginning of 2025, I got the opportunity to work with A&CB Consult on developing their logo and CNV Liquor Distributor (a return client) on updating the layout design of their 2025 liquor portfolio (which is still ongoing). As it stands, I find myself with robust experience in graphic design and illustration. I have particularly developed my aptitude in Adobe applications like InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Acrobat. Aside from my current experience, I still have an interest in developing my skills in 3D design, illustration, and video editing.
More Than Just Hard Skills
As much as I’ve learned versatile and important hard skills over the years, the skills that have been the most valuable are the soft skills I’ve learned. Through my varied experience in both customer service and design I’ve learnt that my strengths are communication, time management, adaptability, collaboration/working in a team, working independently, problem-solving, conflict management, small scale project management, and leadership.
Having identified that I’m someone that values the importance of integrity, knowledge cultivation and application, personal growth, and harmonious workflow, I strive to bring those values to the work environment. My ultimate goals are to continue to learn and grow as both a designer and an individual. I see challenges as opportunities to develop my character, and readily invite new experiences to broaden both my knowledge and skills in my professional and personal life.
